Morning Motivation with Brittany Daniel

Meet Brittany Daniel. Brittany is a lifestyle influencer, host, podcaster, motivational speaker, and life coach whose main goal is to help people get to the life that they truly desire. Learn more about her work, what inspires her to keep going, and her weekday live show Morning Motivation in our interview with her.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.

I’m from Oakland, California but I moved all over the US as a kid, so I was always the new kid at school. This pushed me to be very independent and a social butterfly. If I made one friend by the end of the day, I knew I was set.

Can you give us some details about you and your background? Where do you draw inspiration from?

I draw my inspiration from having a passion to help people. My platform was built to help the younger generation learn how to be independent and do things that may scare them or that they weren’t taught how to do — how to budget and save, how to move across the country, and how to get your own apartment or car.

Please tell us more about your show Morning Motivation.

Morning Motivation is my weekday live show. Every morning at 8 am EST, I share a daily dose of motivation to anyone who may need it. Every day there is a new topic, Friday book giveaways, and a community of positive and like-minded people. It’s something I’m very proud of.

Has it been a relatively smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles you’ve faced along the way?

It definitely hasn’t been. The perception of being a content creator is that it’s easy and all you do is put together videos. But as a video creator, you’re acting as a one-person production team. You are taking care of the production (pre and post), hair, make-up, lighting, sound, everything. You wear a lot of hats, so it can be mentally draining at times.

I think I’ve had the same struggles as most creators, with burn-out being the main one. Sometimes it’s not knowing whether all the work is worth it, but for some crazy reason we keep going, in hopes that it’s not all in vain.

What are you currently focused on? Most proud of so far?

I am currently working on [my show] Morning Motivation every day, hosting live events, interviews, and trying to come up with original ideas. Being a video creator can be tricky. While being ‘trendy’ brings more views, being different and unique is what I aspire to be more than anything.

I’m most proud of my resilience over the past seven years. This career is no joke. There is no roadmap, and as much advice as people can give you, everyone’s journey is uniquely different. All you can do is keep striving to become better at your craft and not give up.

What does “success” look like to you?

Success to me is when I’m being paid to make an impact by doing what I love. Bills paid, money in the bank, and getting to do what I love daily. I think that’s what most people want...right?

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?

If I could go back in time, I would have been more fearless. Most of the time, creators film way more than we post. I have so much footage that no one has ever seen. I was too worried about what others thought. I would have been more transparent with the ups and downs of life, especially in New York. I should have filmed more there. That held me back from being consistent. It still does to a certain extent.

I also wouldn’t have let my “small numbers” deter me or make me feel like I was less than as a creator. If you’re a creator, then you create, not because you have a million followers. Also, popularity is fleeting. I’m focusing more on connecting with my audience than anything else.

What can we expect from you next?

Definitely more vlogs. I want to open up my personal life a bit more. I haven’t done that in a while. More interviews and more Morning Motivation. And I’m a Life Coach now too, so more content centered around helping people create a life they truly love.
