Program Overview

All content, free and premium, lives on a Channel, which holds similar themed content for the Content Creator. Content Creators set their own licensing fees for Premium Content in the content manager in increments of $0.10. A Channel can hold video, audio, or podcasts - or any combination of the three. A Content Creator can have as many Channels as they’d like, with each one containing related types of content.

How To Start Receiving Payments

Complete the steps below after creating your Account to receive You42 payments.

(a) Connecting your Stripe account. To successfully receive payments from You42, you need an active account with Stripe, You42’s payment provider. When adding your existing Stripe account to your You42 Account, make sure that you correctly enter the email address associated with the Stripe account. This profile contains all key pieces of information which control payments for your You42 Account. Please note that you are responsible for all Stripe transaction fees. These will be passed down to you from You42.

Stripe may require you to verify your Stripe account by providing additional identification or proof of address. If this requirement applies to you, any You42 payouts released during the Stripe verification time will be deposited into your Account after verification by Stripe. During that time, You42 will notify you through email that there is an error. Please note that it typically takes up to 2 business days for verification of a new Stripe account.

Find out more about Stripe, including how to create a Stripe account, at www.Stripe.com.

(b) Who gets paid. The name and address of the person or company payments are issued to.

(i) Tax information. A W-9 form will be required for all content creators who wish to monetize their content.

(ii) Contacts. The name and contact information for people associated with your profile.

(c) Receiving Payments. When your Stripe account is active and ready, Stripe allows you to receive You42 payments directly to your Stripe account. After You42 releases your payment, Stripe typically delivers the funds to your Stripe account within 1 business day.

(d) Meet the payment threshold. If your current balance reaches the payment threshold, by the 15th of the month, a 45-day payment processing period begins. You42 will issue you a payment after this processing period ends. See more information about payment timelines below.

EXAMPLE: The payment threshold for your Account is $25, and your current balance reaches this threshold on May 15th. Once you have completed all steps above, then You42 would issue you a payment on or about June 30th. If your current balance has not yet reached the payment threshold, your finalized earnings will roll over to the next month and your balance will continue to accrue until the payment threshold has been met.

Payment Thresholds

There are several revenue thresholds that impact your eligibility to be paid for your You42 earnings. You may be required to act when a threshold is met. These thresholds vary depending on the reporting currency you have chosen in your account.

(a) Payment method selection threshold. Your Account must be active and will need to reach the payment threshold to qualify for a payment. You42 does not issue payments for less than this threshold, and You42 issues all payments through your active Stripe account.

(b) Payment threshold. Provided that you remain in compliance with You42’s policies and there are no holds on your Account, you will be paid out any earnings due to you when you reach the payment threshold (see Threshold Values below).

(c) Cancelation threshold. Should you decide to terminate your Account and your Account balance is greater than the cancelation threshold, You42 will issue your final payment within approximately 90 days after the end of the month in which you have terminated your Account. Please note that you are responsible for completing all necessary steps in the account cancellation process to ensure your final payment can be processed.

Payment Timelines

(a) You42’s payment cycle is 45 days. You accrue earnings over the course of a month. Your monthly earnings will be finalized by You42 accounting and then posted to your available balance on your You42 account. If you remain in compliance with You42’s policies, have no payment holds on your account, and have a balance in your Account that exceeds the payment threshold, You42 will payout your earnings (less any applicable transaction fees) and any other credits on your Account as a lump sum by the end of the following month. Please note that the timing of your receipt of payment will depend upon your time zone, and whether the last day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday.

(b) Tracking the progress of your payments. Your You42 Account page is updated with the progress of any payments to your account. This will include items added and updated throughout the month as your earnings are determined and payment is issued. Any credits, chargebacks, etc. will also be detailed on your You42 Account page.

Linking Channels To Networks

Get the most out of You42 by linking your Channels to a Network. By joining a Network, your brand-relevant Contributions will enjoy boosted traffic under a high-profile Network, where you significantly increase your likelihood of being discovered.

(a) How do I link my Channel to a Network?

● Find the Network’s homepage you would like to be a part of and simply click “JOIN”.

● Provide some additional information and agree to the monetization split terms of that Network. You are required to share a portion of any license fees earned for Premium Content in your Channel that you link to a Network.

● Our Network Management team will review your request and notify you to confirm or deny your request.

(b) What does a Network expect from a Linked Channel?

● Upload at least 2.5 minutes of content every week

● Adhere to any other Network-specific guidelines provided

● Continue to make content that is relevant to the Network

(c) Monetization For Linked Channels

● Linked Channels will typically keep the majority of their Premium Content license fees, with a small percentage going back to the connected Network. Percentages will vary by Network.

● Network payment splits are automatically calculated prior to payout.

Abandoned Property

If your Account page indicates there has been an adjustment for abandoned property, You42 has sent the balance of your wallet in your name to your state government for safekeeping (a process called escheatment). You42 does this when we believe an account has been abandoned. We consider an account abandoned if there has been no activity (you have not signed in to your Account or successfully received a payment from your account) for 2-5 years (times vary based upon your state of residence).

(a) Escheatment process. Companies in the United States are obliged to give assets that they deem abandoned to the appropriate US state government. For US residents, it is the state government of the state in which you have indicated you reside. If you reside outside the US, then the applicable state government is Delaware (You42’s state of incorporation).

(b) How to claim your escheated balance. If your balance has been escheated to the state government, you must apply to your state government’s unclaimed property office to have the money returned to you. You can find the unclaimed property office by conducting a search of your state together with “unclaimed property”.

(c) How to avoid your balance being escheated. To avoid escheatment, You42 recommends you sign into your Account on a regular basis, so we know your intention is to keep your Account active. Also, if your Account balance has met the payment threshold, ensure that you have met all conditions to get paid.

How many Networks can I link to?

A Channel can only be linked to one Network at a time, but a Content Creator can have multiple Channels linked to different Networks.

Can I delete Premium Content from the Service that has already been unlocked by users?

You can remove your Contributions from the Service at any time, but doing so will impact your revenue. In a commitment to our users, we ensure that any Premium Content is available to them for no less than 45 days from the date they first access it. If you remove that piece of Premium Content, you won’t receive payment from any user that did not have access to the content for the full 45 day window.

What is an account “Strike”?

Community Guidelines “Strikes” are issued when the You42 Rules Group is notified of a violation of the Terms of Service or the Content Creator Agreement. Sometimes content is removed for reasons other than Community Guidelines violations, such as the safety of the person who posted (or appears in) a video, a first-party privacy complaint, court order, or other issues. Some severe infractions such as spamming, nudity or sexually explicit content, hate speech, bullying (or other infractions that You42’s Rules Group in their sole discretion deem severe enough) may result in immediate account termination at You42’s sole discretion.

A “Strike” is given to a Content Creator or a user if the You42 Rules Group determines that a violation of some sort has taken place. All content that is in violation of the You42 Terms of Service or the Content Creator Agreement is immediately taken down, the user / content owner is made aware of the violation and the Strike. A Strike can disappear from the account after 90-days if there are no further violations during this time period. However, another violation within the 90-day period will result in a second Strike, and the account will incur a suspension for a period of time determined by the You42 Rules Group, but not less than 14 days. When the user account is restored after the second Strike suspension, it will be under “Conditional Probation”. If the user violates the terms again, for any reason, within one year; the account will be permanently deleted.
